Ted McDermott is an investigative reporter and the author The Minor Outsider, a novel. He lives in Spokane, Washington.
His work has been named Notable in the Best American Essays, nominated for the Essay Prize, and received numerous journalism awards, including the A-Mark Prize for Investigative Reporting and first place for Coverage of Indigenous Communities by a non-Native reporter from the Indigenous Media Awards.
His fiction and nonfiction have appeared in VICE, The Believer, The Portland Review, The Minus Times, and elsewhere.
